The Shawano County Dive team was mobilized after a 52 year old Illinois man was rescued from the water by the DNR. The Man had gone through the ice with his snowmobile. A second report of another snowmobile in open water and the DNR rescued a 39 year old Appleton man. Authorities say these rescues could have turned to tragedy and ask that you travel safe on Shawano Lake and all bodies of frozen water safely and remember that no ice is safe ice.
