Puxatawney Phil is not the only one who predicted an early spring. It seems Jimmy the Groundhog predicted an early arrival of spring during the 71st annual Groundhog Prognostication Event Saturday in downtown Sun Prairie. Jimmy’s prediction comes the same week as snow and extreme cold took turns marching through Wisconsin. Sun Prairie also celebrates with all kinds of fun and specials for people to enjoy, such as groundhog-decorated cookies, Jimmy Latte’s and of course Groundhog Day Shirts were available. Wilderness Walk Zoo and Recreation Park near Hayward was the official groundhog handler for this year’s event, according to a news release from the city.
