Vape shop employees are urging the city of Appleton to back off. A resolution by the Appleton Board of Health is looking to modify language in a city ordinance regarding smoke-free workplaces to include electronic smoking devices. When George Packard of Neenah, who opened Xtreme Vape, LLC in Antigo heard about the resolution, he wrote a letter to the city of Appleton expressing his concerns about the ban. Packard said he wrote the letter in support of his friends who run vape shops in Appleton. If the ban took place at his shop, Packard said he would see about a 50 percent reduction in sales and would lose customers to online retailers. The resolution will head back to the Board of Health on Feb. 13. If it passes there, it will then go to the Appleton Common Council.
