Deborah L. Griepentrog, age 65, of Tigerton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Deborah Lynn Griepentrog was born on January 22, 1953 in Tigerton to Delbert “Deb” and Olive (Schoenfeld) Griepentrog. She grew up in Tigerton and graduated from Tigerton High School in 1971. Debby’s father gave her the name “Ba”; and all the nieces and nephews still affectionately call her by her nick name.
Debby was employed as a Library Media Assistant with the Tigerton School District for just over 47 years. She was the school districts archive department head for many years as well. In 2000 Debby was named to the Tigerton High School Alumni Hall of Fame. Debby was a collector of Tigerton Tigers athletic wear and other memorabilia. She was often seen at school sporting events sitting in her same spot.
Debby was a Charter Member of the Tigerton Historical Society. She was also recognized by the Tigerton Lions Club for her service to others. Her favorite pastime was driving her yellow 1974 Chevy Nova every summer. Debby enjoyed holding a rummage sale each year working side-by-side with her family. Debby’s house is full of all sorts of Pig related nick-nacks large or small. She will be remembered most for her love of family, school, and community.
Survivors include her dog Sunshine; three siblings, Roger (Angela) Griepentrog of Freedom, Gayle Griepentrog of Wausau, and Tim (Teresa) Griepentrog of Tigerton; and a sister-in-law, Sally Griepentrog of Clintonville. Nieces and Nephews: Jodi Griepentrog, Lori Griepentrog, Cari Griepentrog, Kelly Riedel, Mike Griepentrog, Nathan Griepentrog, Rachel Griepentrog, and Jessi Griepentrog. Great Nieces and Nephews: Kyle, AJ, Christen, Alec, Hunter, Shibya, Payton, Megan, Zeke, Isabella, Gabe, Caleb, Allison, Lucas, and Evelyn. She is further survived by numerous godchildren; many other relatives and friends. Debby is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carolyn Riedel, brother-in-law David Riedel, and a niece Molly Riedel.
According to Debby’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 25th at 12:00 Noon at Union Cemetery, Tigerton, with Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, assisted the family.
