Wittenberg Village President William Switalla will be arraigned December 17 facing a charge of felony burglary. He’s accused of stealing a grill from a property that was foreclosed by the county. A judge ruled that there was probable cause that a felony occurred. Switalla’s lawyer argued against the charges, saying the grill had been removed as part of Switalla’s efforts to help the county clean out the foreclosed property. After taking a load of garbage to the dump, Switalla returned the grill to a garage on the property. Switalla is also a Shawano County Supervisor.
