The Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to use a new highway interchange design in northeast Wisconsin. It’s called a “diverging diamond” interchange and has been installed on Highway 441 in Appleton. The D-O-T says drivers should educate themselves on how to navigate the diverging diamond interchange, as will open next week. The design is now being used by more and more states across the country as officials say it will improve traffic safety.
