Harvey Edward Eggert, age 99 of Shawano, passed away in the early morning hours of October 22, 2018 at his home. Born on February 12, 1919 in the Town of Herman, he was the son of the late Paul and Minnie (Mailahn) Eggert. On November 16, 1940, Harvey was united in marriage to Eena Anita Salzmann in Clintonville. Eena preceded him in death on October 16, 2009. Harvey lived in the Town of Herman his entire life, where he owned and operated a dairy farm. He enjoyed making maple syrup and woodworking. Harvey was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where served as past treasurer.
Harvey is survived by: his children, Bonnie Roe of Marion, Duane (Carla) Eggert of Shawano and Annette (Gerald) Seehafer; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Bessette, Paul (Tiffany Boldig) Eggert, Crystal (Dan) Hohensee, Jason Eggert, Timothy Roe, Christopher Seehafer and Melanie (Trevor) Bosar; and 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Ruth Moore of Peshtigo; sisters-in-law, Lois May of Clintonville and Verna O’Connell of Milwaukee; and his brother-in-law, Glenn Salzmann of PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eena; his parents; brother and sisters, Elmer Eggert, Edna Eigenfeld and Delores Meyer; three brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for Harvey will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church Red River with Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
