Michelle “Shelly” M. Olson, age 48 of Gresham, started her journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Green Bay, surrounded by her loving family.
Michelle was born on March 19, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Clifford, Sr. and Beatrice (Brunette) Olson. She graduated from Menominee Indian High School in 1988. She then moved to Denver, Colorado for several years where she was a cook at an assisted living center. When she returned to Wisconsin, she was the head cook at the Senior Center in Neopit. Shelly loved cooking and was an excellent seamstress, making regalia for Pow Wow dancing. She also enjoyed beading. Shelly loved her family and was a very loving person.
Survivors include her soul mate, Dale Peters, of Gresham; her son, Tim (Fancy) White of Shawano; her step-sons, Josh Peters of Green Bay, and Jordan (Andrea) Peters of Keshena; six grandchildren, Kane, Timothy III. Tia, Tommy, Jocelle, and Jesseny; siblings, Clifford Olson, Jr. of Keshena, Mary (Duane) Waupoose of Keshena, and Awaehsasaeh (Cheryl) Olson of Shawano; her special aunt, Becky Brunette of South Branch; her mother-in-law, Gloria Miller of Keshena; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Shelly was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Donovan Olson; and her special friend, Rae Tourtillott.
Traditional Native American services for Shelly Olson will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Becky Brunette residence, 5763 County Road AA, Suring. Burial will be in the South Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the Brunette residence after 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 and continue until the time of service on Saturday.
