We Wisconsites do our own thing. We march to the beat of our own drummer. We don’t follow trends. And, according to a new study, that’s true of our candy-buying. Candystore.com, a bulk candy distributor, analyzed data to determine what each state’s favorite Halloween candy is. And they found that Wisconsin’s number-one choice — Butterfinger — is nowhere to be seen on the top 10 list of the nation as a whole. And it’s no other state’s favorite candy. Wisconsin’s top three candy choices, going into this trick-or-treat season, are Butterfinger, Starburst and — weirdly — Hot Tamales.
The top 10 for the nation as a whole seem a bit more traditional:
- Skittles
- M&Ms
- Snickers
- Reese’s Cups
- Starburst
- candy corn
- Hot Tamales
- Hershey’s
- Tootsie Pops
- Jolly Ranchers
