Teams from FEMA, the U-S Small Business Administration and Wisconsin Emergency Management will begin preliminary damage assessments Monday following tornadoes and flooding from mid-August through September 14th. This is the first step in seeking a federal disaster declaration for Wisconsin. Five teams will be assessing damage to homes and business and three teams will be surveying damage to public infrastructure. Two teams will be in Dane County due to the extent of the damage. The preliminary damage assessments are expected to take about a week.
