Neighbors in the Town of Little River are turning up their noses regarding the construction of a huge manure pit. The neighbors go to court today where a judge will hear arguments over an injunction against the 12.6 million gallon pit. Some neighbors feel the manure pit would cause air pollution from methane and other gases, creating “an unwholesome and offensive odor that would affect the neighboring properties” and cause water pollution from seepage into wells already on the site. The facility is being constructed by B & D Dairy, located four miles east of Pound.
