Following a public listening session, Outagamie County wants to hear more from residents regarding a nature center. Last week, officials revealed their master plan for Mosquito hill. The plan includes a vision for the recently acquired 11-acre “Kamps Family” property at the top of the hill. Some ideas provided at the listening session include skiing or sledding, connecting more trails, and creating a nature-based school for children. The county has created a survey to gain more feedback from residents on the master plan. During the meeting, a re-branding effort to remove the word “Mosquito” from the name was put on hold. The goal is to have a Mosquito Hill master plan ready for Outagamie county board approval by the end of this year or early next year.
