In Little Chute, an 87-year-old woman was rescued from the Fox River Monday morning after she lost control of her scooter, went down an embankment and fell into the water.
The woman was able to keep herself afloat by holding on to the riverbank after falling in, he said. She was then able to reach her cellphone and call 911.
The Fox Valley Metro Police Department and the Little Chute Fire Department pulled the woman out of the water after about 25 minutes.
She was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure after she was rescued.
