The Space Weather Prediction Center says people in Wisconsin should be able to see the Northern Lights between 10:00 P-M Monday at 4:00 A-M Tuesday. A geomagnetic storm will be visible. Clear skies in the forecast will make it easy to enjoy the sights. The best viewing areas will be away from cities and their light pollution and in rural areas which offer a wide-open horizon. The Aurora Borealis is seen when electrically-charged particles collide with neutral atoms in the upper atmosphere. Much of the northern U-S will be able to enjoy the show.
