The Wisconsin Department of Health Services continues to see cases of severe bleeding from the use of synthetic cannabinoids. State health officials say there have been eight cases in the last two weeks involving so-called fake weed, “K-2” or “spice.” The bleeding happens because the products reportedly contain rat poison. Wisconsin has seen a total of 54 cases since March in Dane, Milwaukee, Outagamie and Rock counties, with 40 confirmed as synthetic pot and 14 probable. State Health Officer Karen McKeown is urging people to stop taking these drugs and says users could be at risk for bleeding for months. The products are illegal in Wisconsin.
