An Oconto teen missing for nearly three months has been found dead of an apparent suicide, according to Oconto Police.
A body found at Sharp Park in the city of Oconto on Aug. 24 was identified Tuesday as Nickolas Sharkey, a news release stated.
Sharkey was last seen the night of June 2. He was reported as a runaway on June 4.
In mid-June, Oconto Police said that there had been a couple of sightings of Sharkey in Appleton, and his phone had pinged to Ashwaubenon once, but no address was available.
The Oconto Unified School District is partnering with Oconto Police to provide counseling services to students. Exact dates and times will be provided as soon as possible.
This incident remains under investigation by the Oconto Police Department, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
