A registered sex offender from Lincoln County with a history of sex offender registry violations is now accused of touching a young boy inappropriately during a road trip that ended last week at a Brown County truck stop. Brian D. Wickersham, 58, of Merrill, was charged in Brown County Circuit Court with one count of felony use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. He also faces a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child. According to a criminal complaint, Wickersham, who works as a truck driver for a trucking company based out of Taylor County, was traveling back from a scheduled route to Virginia last week, when he began making advances toward his 13-year-old passenger. Wickersham was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in 1994. He was also convicted of a sex registry violation in 2008 and failure to notify a school of sex offender status in 2017. He faces up to 40 years in prison on the new charges. His next court appearance is August 28th , he is being held in the Brown County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
