The town of Freedom is preparing to move forward with plans to build a new town hall after voters on Tuesday gave the nod to the lesser of two proposals in an advisory referendum. The Town Board had asked voters to choose between two options for a new town hall in Tuesday’s primary election. The current town hall inadequately meets the requirements for fire, police and first responder facilities, the ballot read. Since the referendum was advisory, the results now go back to the Town Board for consideration. Construction of the new town hall is expected to begin in the spring of 2019 and be completed by the end of next year.
