The historic 1918 school in Clintonville has been added to the State Register of Historic Places by the Wisconsin State Historical Society. Rexford-Longfellow Elementary School no longer has to worry about being demolished for a new school thanks to the Clintonville School District voting against the razing of the facility and building a new school for nearly $25 million. The building was built on land donated by Urial Clinton, the city’s namesake. It is the site of the first school building constructed solely for that purpose in Clintonville.
