Waupaca County urges its citizens to properly dispose of sharp objects. Health care patterns who use syringes, lancets and other sharp medical items at home are asked to dispose of them properly. This is to help reduce the health risks to waste management workers. Those improperly disposed can expose garbage collectors and handlers to the infectious diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. No workers have been exposed as of right now but the odds are stacked against them with the Waupaca County Processing and Transfer facility has already come across numerous needles on multiple occasions. For more information contact the Waupaca County Waste Department for disposal locations.
