George Burch launched his first step of appeal of his life sentence for the Nicole Vanderhayden murder. George Burch filed a notice of intent to seek post-conviction relief last week. He will be asking Brown County Judge John Zakowski to reconsider his life in prison without parole sentencing. Burch was convicted in March of killing Vanderhayden outside of her home and dumping the body in a field. The case is scheduled for trial on August 15th before Brown County Circuit Judge William Atkinson.
