A Wabeno man has pleaded to not guilty to six charges, including three felonies, over an alleged incident involving an ex-girlfriend. Cameron C. Soman, 42, faces a maximum of 26 years on the charges. The incident occurred Dec. 18 in the town of Townsend. He was charted Dec. 20 with domestic abuse charges: burglary, battery or threat to a witness and strangulation and suffocation — both felonies — along with criminal trespass, battery and disorderly conduct. Soman was arrested Feb. 16 on a warrant and made his initial appearance on Feb. 19, when his bond was set at $10,000 cash. He waived his preliminary hearing and was arraigned on March 16.
He was also charged with two counts of resisting/obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia related to his arrest, which occurred at the former girlfriend’s residence. A pre-trial conference in both cases is set for April 12.
