The United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced that a federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment against a man allegedly involved in an armed assault on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Shawn T. Sanapaw, 34 of Keshena, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Sanapaw faces a maximum of 10 years’ imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, and up to 3 years of supervised release. According to the indictment, on about September 29, 2017, Sanapaw assaulted another person with a firearm.
