Lyle P. Ashenbrenner, age 82 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, March 28, 2018 in Neenah.
Lyle was born May 26, 1935 in the Town of Pella, Shawano County, Wisconsin, a son of the late Matt and Leona (Stickney) Ashenbrenner. He attended country school in Leopolis, and graduated from Marion High School in 1953. On November 20, 1954 he was united in marriage to the former Diane Page at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Lyle was employed at Knope Heating and Air Conditioning from 1956 until his retirement in May, 1997.
He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. He was a past member of the Shawano Area Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, riding his tractor and gator, and deer hunting. Lyle was a past member of the Leopolis Fish and Game Club. He loved cheering on the Brewers and the Packers.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Diane, of Shawano; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Paul Pleshek of Bonduel; his son, Steven Ashenbrenner; two granddaughters, Heather (special friend Matt Kieffer) Renner and Shelli (Chad) Fehrman; six great-grandchildren, Alison, Breanna, and Joseph Renner, and Kendall, Brynn, and Cade Fehrman; his sister, Nancy (Don) Bemke of Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, Duane (Kathleen) Ashenbrenner and Gene (Patrice) Ashenbrenner, both of Shawano; his brother-in-law, Douglas Page of Oostburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Dale Humphrey; and two nephews, Gary and Brian Ashenbrenner.
A Funeral Mass for Lyle will be celebrated on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Tom Farrell will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, beginning at 9:00 AM and continuing until the hour of Mass.
