A Shawano woman who stole mail last fall from a U.S. Postal Service truck containing $6,445 was sentenced Friday in federal court to one year in prison. According to court documents, Teresa Konaha, 33, was reported to police after being seen taking two plastic mail tubs from a postal truck in Shawano on Nov. 4 to the lobby of an apartment building. The carrier said her purse, wallet and car keys were also stolen from the truck. Konaha pleaded guilty to mail theft Friday and was sentenced at the same hearing. Konaha has four counts of theft pending against her in Shawano County Circuit Court. She has a May 1 hearing before Circuit Judge William Kussel Jr.
