Shawano Police Chief Dan Mauel says two people were taken into custody in connection with an early Saturday morning shooting that sent a Shawano woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mauel says officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of E. 5th St, where they found the 31-year-old woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano. Police say all indications are that the victim was the targeted and did not believe the public to be in any danger.
Mauel says it is believed that the two suspects who were taken into custody are all the people involved in the incident.
