The Boulder Lake campground in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is closed for all of 2018.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office released a statement this afternoon, citing a local property who they say has been identified as a potential threat to the campgrounds safety, as the reason for the its closure.
Oconto County authorities are working with the Langlade County Sheriff’s office as well as with state and federal agencies to manage the risks. Officials say they will know more in the upcoming weeks. Anyone who has sites booked at the campground will get their money back.
