Legalized lemonade stands are moving one step closer to fruition.
The Wisconsin State Assembly passed a bill yesterday that would allow minors to operate lemonade stands without having to obtain a local permit or license or a state food processing or retail food establishment license. They would just have to be temporary and they could not generate over $1,0000.
The bills author was Rep. Joel Kleefisch who said he was inspired by a 2011 incident when Appleton Police shut down lemonade stand being operated by two pre-teen girls.
The bill goes to the state senate next.
