Snowmobiles in Shawano and Waupaca Counties are hoping for more snow to come and open the trails.
If and when that time arrives, DNR Conservation Warden Mark Schraufnagel issued a reminder for some riders age 32 and under.
“The law says anyone born after January 1 1985, has to take snowmobile safety if you want to operate a snowmobile any place other than your own property,” Schraufnagel said. “So if you’re going over to grandma and grandma’s, that’s separate property and you need to have snowmobile safety.”
ATV’s are similar but the cutoff date is 1988.
