
Elaine Marian Kersten, formerly of Tigerton, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the age of 91.
Elaine was born on January 2, 1927 to the late Otto and Myrel (Stanley) Kersten in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County. She worked at the Hanson Glove Factory, was a real estate agent with Hilgenberg Realty, waitressed and bartended at the Caroline Ballroom, managed the House of Fabrics Store in Clintonville, and worked at Presto in Weyauwega. Her hobbies were sewing, organizing family pictures, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a sister, Bonnie Hidde of Clintonville and a brother, Herman (Joan) Kersten of Tigerton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Diane and Darold Koepke, Sharon and Jeff Piastowski, Steve and Kim Nero, Pam and Mark Rostagno, Kathy and Steve Breaker, Gary and Diana Hidde, Ricky and Sandy Hidde, Dale and Barbara Hidde, Debbie and Al Schley, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Nero, and two brothers-in-law Ernie Nero and Harold Hidde, and a niece Cheryl Kersten.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 14th at 2:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock. Rev. Craig Nehring will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting with the arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special “thanks” to all the staff at Care Partners in Clintonville and the Heartland Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided to Elaine and support to her family. They are a special team. Thanks to Stacie for all of her support throughout Elaine’s stay at Care Partners. She loved it there.
