The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a woman posing as a WE Energies worker yesterday and telling people that she would cut their services if they didn’t pay her.
A Shawano resident at the 6400 block of Sandy Lane told authorities it was an “older woman driving a white old panel van” with a WE Energies sticker who came to her door with a disconnect notice. She was requesting $1,000 to not disconnect the service.
The resident called WE Energies who told her that they don’t do that.
