Gary J. Gomeyosh, age 44 of Neopit, began his journey to the Spirit World on Friday afternoon, October 13, 2017 at Appleton Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born June 27, 1973 in Antigo, a son of Rose (Kaquatosh) Gomeyosh and the late Joe Gomeyosh. He went to school and graduated from the Menominee Tribal School. Following school Gary worked various jobs, including Menominee Tribal Enterprise. He last worked at the Menominee Casino as a cook before becoming ill. Gary loved the Packers and riding in the woods.
Survivors include his mother, Rose, of Neopit; her brother, Mike (significant other, Marsha) Gomeyosh of Keshena; his half-siblings, Debra (Mark) Mathison, Mary Lou Zink, Christine (Bruce) Barwick, John (Beth) Zink, Jim Zink, and Jay (Vivian) Zink; niece and nephews, Cody, Kyle, Cory, Grant, and Caprice; great-nephew, Carsin; his aunt, Lucy Walker, uncles Louie and Frank Kaquatosh; his significant other Jodi; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Joe; his brother, Guy Gomeyosh; and an infant son, Brian Lowell Gomeyosh.
Traditional Native American services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Zoar Ceremonial Building in Zoar. Elder John Teller, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place in the Crow Settlement Cemetery.
