The Shawano Lobos will face the Gresham Gophers in the 25th Annual Shawano Lobos Tournament Championship Game Friday.
Shawano 4, Pulaski 2
Dylan Sumnicht pitched a compete game victory for the Shawano Lobos in a 4-2 win over Pulaski. Sumnicht gave up four hits and stuck out five in the win.
“Dylan threw well and hit his spots tonight” Manager Will Gillis said of Dylan Sumnicht. Bryce Szymanski hit a sacrifice fly to score the fourth run in the sixth inning. Shawano scored three unearned runs in the first five innings. Riley Christensen had two hits to lead Pulaski.
“We played two really tight games to get the Championship” Gillis said. “Dylan threw a nice game and it is great being in the Championship and have the chance to win this.”
Gresham 8, Hofa Park 7
Gresham scored four runs in the seventh inning to come from behind to beat Hofa Park. Panthers pitcher AJ Crooks gave up two hits and issued a walk to load the bases, and then walked in the first run of the inning to make the score 8-5. Two Hofa Park errors and a base hit tied the game for Gresham before Chase Quinney laid down a suicide squeeze bunt for the game winning run. Nobody had multiple hits for Gresham in the win. Derrick Bowman earned the win in relief.
