Village Board Members Will Not Be Paid To Replace Village Officials and Employees
Bonduel Village Board is set to meet tonight. The meeting location has been moved from Village Hall to Bonduel High School to accommodate what could be a larger crowd. The Village Board is currently in the process of replacing resigning Deputy Clerk Treasurer Katrina Schroeder and retiring Police Chief Todd Chaney. The Board will also have to replace resigning board member Shawn Thorne, who will be sitting in for his final meeting tonight.
The Bonduel Village Board agreed to suspend their per diem pay for meetings that have been, or will be held to fill vacant positions. Some board members felt it would be unfair to tax payers if board members are paid for meetings regarding filling vacant positions. Those who are leaving their positions have stated it is due to tensions on the Village Board that led to their decision. The motion was carried, but the vote was not unanimous.
Tonight the board will be discussing construction on Highway 117 and Cedar Street as well as the Balsam Street Storm Sewer driveway project. A discussion will also take place regarding the proposed library lease agreement with Shawano County.
