Mielke S-Curve Dairy of Marion will be this year’s host of the Shawano County Brunch on the Farm. The farm is owned and operated by Dale and Deb Mielke, who claim there is good reason to stop in for breakfast.
“We have the best menu, the best. We’ll have scrambled eggs with diced ham and cheese, sausages and hash browns. We have cheese samples, including cheese curds, our famous cinnamon bread and butter and then milk and juice.”
The Shawano County Dairy Promotions will also be serving their ice cream with strawberries and maple syrup as the toppings. The food will be served from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is all you can. Deb Mielke says this year, they’ve added area for second helpings.
“The idea used to be you have to hurry up and eat and get out, but now we want people to eat and then stay and take advantage of the activities” said Mielke. “We have lots of fun things to do, but in between we try to insert some educational things.”
The day begins with the Dairy Dash 5K at 7:30, a worship service at 8 a.m. and activities throughout the day for the entire family to enjoy while eating delicious food.
“We’ll have a petting zoo, children’s games for four and up, a duck pond for three and under and they both have prizes for the winners. We have a pedal tractor pull, then Angie Schultz will be there doing tattoos, face painting, and she’s also in charge of the bake off at 10 a.m. We’re going to have a bouncy house, a wood carver and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will have tons of information. They always have free recipes” Mielke added.
Those activities go along with a whole day planned this Sunday on the Shawano County Brunch on the Farm hosted by Mielke S-Curve Dairy, which is located on Keller Road in Marion.
