Elaine R. Schoenborn, age 72 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Elaine was born October 25, 1944 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Leonard and Amelia (Zeman) Doran. She attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Allen Tomashek in Shawano. The couple lived and farmed in Bonduel until selling the farm and purchasing the Shawano Motel. Elaine worked in numerous supper clubs where she cooked and tended bar. She later worked at Eagle Knitting Mills in Shawano.
Elaine purchased the Carriage House in Gillett. She loved to cook and visit with people, especially family and friends. She truly loved her cats. Elaine shared many years of happiness with Jim Schoenborn. She liked to live her life to the fullest. Elaine was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Lucht of Omro, Traci (Jeff) Dayton of the Town of Washington, and Therese (Mike) Kelly of the Town of Lessor; her grandchildren, Heather Dayton, Matthew (Jennifer Zahradka) Dayton, Brianna (Dennis Christensen) Dayton, Cameron Lucht, Nathan Kelly, and Brooke Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Braeden, Mason, and Evelyn; her sisters, Patricia Rusch and Rita (Dennis) Rusch, both of Shawano; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; one niece; and one nephew.
A memorial service for Elaine R. Schoenborn will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Deacon James Lonick will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Monday from 4:00 PM until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in Elaine’s name for the Shawano County Humane Society.
