Thomas H. Milbauer, age 72, of Marion passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, Plymouth.
Thomas Harold Milbauer was born on January 20, 1945 in Clintonville to John and Elva (Pick) Milbauer. He grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School in 1963. Tom started working for his dad at Marion Body Works as a teenager learning the trade. Tom was united in marriage on July 3, 1965 to Mary A. Samz at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. The couple lived in the Marion area all their married lives. Tom moved up to foreman and then worked in the office the latter years of his career. He left Body Works in the early 1990’s to better pursue his own endeavor. He started United Stainless Liners out of his home workshop in Marion. Tom manufactured countless numbers of stainless steel chimney liners for many homes around the area. He continued working with steel until he retired in 2015. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion. For many years the couple enjoyed going up north to their cabin on Little Spider Lake in Arbor Vitae. Tom was always a handyman and loved to tinker with all sorts of projects. He was the happiest being out in his workshop inventing or building something, or helping a neighbor or friend in need. Tom will be remembered most as devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary, and two daughters, Deb (Jeff) Tobin of Mountain View, CA, and Chris (Jerry) Vetter of Plymouth. There are four grandchildren, Sophie Tobin, Sam Tobin, Taylor Ludvik, and Brady Ludvik. There are two sisters, Joanne Rulseh of Iola and Susan Schultz of Lake Delton. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Warren Schultz.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 AM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Deacon Howard Bricco will officiate and inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your own choice in Tom’s memory.
