A 21-year-old Clintonville man was one of two men who were kayaking on Lake Michigan, that were killed Friday afternoon.
According the Door County Sheriff’s Department, rescuers were called to the Cave Point County Park, north of Sturgeon Bay at around 11:30 a.m. The report says their kayaks had capsized about 100 yards from shore.
Rescuers were able to reach them and bring them on shore, however, they were pronounced dead at an area hospital around 2 p.m.
Sheriff’s officials say neither were wearing a life jacket, but no cause of death has been announced. The other man killed was a 29-year-old from Sturgeon Bay.
Authorities have not identified the men, so their families can be notified.
