Mark D. Griesmer, age 55 of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away early Sunday morning, April 9, 2017, with his wife and daughter at his side.
Mark was born September 24, 1961 in Hubertus, Wisconsin, a son of Donald and Nancy (Schlieve) Griesmer. He attended school in Milwaukee, graduating from Milwaukee Madison High School. Following high school, Mark worked at a printing company.
On May 22, 1987 he was united in marriage to the former Marguerite Nowak in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1996 when they moved to Hartford, Wisconsin. They moved to Belle Plaine in 2004. Mark was a dedicated volunteer at MIT LIEBE Dog Rescue in Suamico. He loved to fly model airplanes.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite, of the Town of Belle Plaine; his daughter, Nicole Martin of Hartford; his son, William (Rachel) Griesmer of Germantown; two grandchildren, Hailey and Levi Martin; his parents, Donald and Nancy Griesmer of Shawano; his brothers, David Griesmer of Milwaukee and Glen (Angie) Griesmer of Cascade; his sisters, Julie (Jim) Houghtaling of Milwaukee, and Brenda (Glen) Houghtaling of Menomonee Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mark D. Griesmer will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor John Anderson will officiate. Interment will take place in the Friendship Cemetery, Town of Belle Plaine. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
