Nash J. Pyawasay “Menot”, age 63 of Shawano, started his journey to the Spirit World on Monday, March 27, 2017 in Shawano.
Nash was born December 3, 1953 in Keshena, a son of the late William M. and Jacqualine (Menore) Pyawasay. He entered the United States Army on November 15, 1972, where he served as an ordinance specialist, and was honorably discharged on July 3, 1974. Following the service, Nash drove truck for several years.
Survivors include his children, Jacqueline Rodriguez of Milwaukee, Justina Pemberton of Milwaukee, Shannon (Dennis) Pounds of Menasha, Jamie (Pablo) Skenandore of Milwaukee, Billie (Tom) Scherr of Menomonee Falls, and Jimbo Alvarez of Milwaukee; eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; seven sisters and two brothers; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Nash was preceded in death by two brothers.
A Funeral Mass for Nash J. Pyawasay will be celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Michaels’ Catholic Church in Keshena. Fr. Francis Zurbano will be the Celebrant. Relatives and friends may call at the David Barrett Hall at St. Michael’s after 4:00 PM on Thursday until the time of Mass on Saturday. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2017 at 7:00 PM. The Veterans of the Menominee Nation will conduct full military honors at the church.
