The Shawano Police Department is investigating a number of thefts that have been reported by Shawano businesses recently.
“We’ve had a string of shopliftings occur the last few days and we believe there are two suspects involved,” Shawano Police Lieutenant Dan Mauel told TCHdailynews. “They’re the same suspects from each establishment. We think we have a good idea of who they are. It’s just a matter of catching up with them, packaging the cases together, and then asking the district attorney for charges.”
Lieutenant Mauel says the string of thefts haven’t occurred at any private residences, and have been limited to area businesses.
“There’s actually six [businesses],” said Lieutenant Mauel. “Five in the last couple days and one was a couple weeks ago that it looks like it’s tied in with it.”
According to the police department’s daily report from Feb. 14, businesses that had reported shoplifting were Raptor Knife and Gun, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Parts, Automotive Supply Company, and Qualheim’s True Value. The investigation is ongoing.
