A 17-year-old teen from Oconto, who was jailed in connection with a 36-year-old man’s death was released from jail on Thursday. The teen was identified as Devon Tucker and Oconto County District Attorney Edward Burke says that he was defending himself when he punched 36-year-old Jason Fotopoulos, who died in the altercation. During the investigation, authorities learned that when Fotopoulos was knocked to the ground, he began to have difficulty breathing. Tucker tried to administer CPR, but to no avail. The incident occurred back on December 17th. Fotopoulos and Tucker had been neighbors, and according to witnesses Fotopoulos used racially inappropriate language towards Tucker. Autopsy results showed that Fotopoulos died due to a blunt force blow to the base of the brain, causing bleeding in the brain. Tucker had never been charged in the case, but District Attorney Burke says he will make a final decision when the complete autopsy is completed.
