Liesenfelder Settles Down After First To Lead Clintonville In Elimination Game
Clintonville’s Logan Liesenfelder had trouble finding the strike zone in the first inning, but found his groove and pitched the Diamondcats to an 8-7 victory. Liesenfelder issued five walks and gave up two singles to give Iola a 4-0 lead. Clintonville took a 6-4 lead in the fourth inning, sending 10 batters to the plate. Colton Kluth hit a big double to drive in two runs to give the Diamondcats a 6-4 lead. Liesenfelder pitched six and a third, but was relieved after he maxed out in pitches with 8 strikeouts to his total.
In the fourth inning comeback, Cory Riemer and Liesenfelder both singled in a run, Josh Schroeder walked to drive in a run. Kluth had two hits to lead Clintonville at the plate. The Diamondcats outhit Iola 11-9 and did not commit a defensive error. Ethan Olson and Seth Korb both had two hits against Liesenfelder.
