Evangeline J. ‘Vangie’ Thiede, age 83 of Bonduel, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Shawano. Vangie was born in Pella on September 26, 1934, daughter of the late William and Edna (Gumz) Messerschmidt. Vangie graduated from Bonduel High School. She married William Thiede on June 9, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Vangie worked at Pine Manor in Clintonville for 40 years, where she met and developed lifelong friendships with her coworkers. She enjoyed training many new employees over the years. Vangie loved working in her yard and her flower beds. She also loved to read, play cards, and travel with her husband Bill. Vangie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, where she was active with the Altar Guild, Bible classes and as a happy greeter.
Vangie is survived by: her husband of 62 years, Bill; sisters, Ethel Svetnicha and Donna Seefeldt; nieces and nephews, Sherry (Glenn) Hill, Karen (Paul) Walch, Randy (Bonnie) Bramschreiber, Dan (Julie) Bramschreiber, Tammy (Keith) Rosin, Debbie (Don) Buresh; and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Messerschmidt; sister, Florence Mavis; in-laws, Bob Bramschreiber, Art Mavis and Ken Seefeldt.
Funeral services for Evangeline will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Pastor Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 until the time of the service.
