Linda S. Lehman, age 87, of Arbor Vitae, WI (formerly of Land O’ Lakes and Marion) passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Pine Square Adult Family Home, Tomahawk.
The former Linda Selma Schuelke was born on December 26, 1930 in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, to Albert and Louise (Ebert) Schuelke. She attended Big Falls Grade School and graduated from Marion High School. Linda worked for several years at Marion Motor Company (Ford garage) as bookkeeper. Then she was employed for 12 years at FWD Corporation, Clintonville, in the accounting department. Linda was united in marriage on June 3rd, 1950 to Vilas M. Lehman at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion. In 1951 Vilas and Linda bought the Gehl farm machinery dealership in Marion from Pete Gehl. In the mid-1960s they added the Ski-doo snowmobile dealership becoming one of the first Ski-doo dealers in Wisconsin. After retiring in 1991, the couple operated the Ski-doo Racing Support Trailer for Bombardier Corporation traveling to snowmobile races across the mid-west. Linda was so proud of her sons and their snowmobile racing that she became one of their biggest fans.
Linda was an active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion, for many years. She was a longtime choir member; sang for weddings and funerals, and served with the Ladies Aid on numerous church projects. She was elected to the Marion School Board for 12 years and was active in the PTO with the Marion School District. Linda enjoyed traveling, fishing, dancing (polka music was her happy music), sewing, being outdoors, gardening, singing, cooking, and baking. She was also a proud supporter of the Marion Fire Department and the American Legion Post #198. Her husband of 66 years preceded her in death on June 3, 2016.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Lehman and James Lehman, both of Arbor Vitae, and one sister-in-law, Annie Lehman of Hortonville and Florida. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vilas, one sister, and one brother.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 10th at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion. Pastor Lois Graper will officiate and burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery, Town of Dupont. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Marion Fire Department, or to the American Legion Post #198, Marion in memory of Linda.
