Marion Man Chad Kohel, 45, is facing an attempted homicide charge for allegedly strangling a Shawano County Sheriff’s deputy after being pulled over for drunken driving. Deputy Sandra Finger took Kohel to the hospital after blowing a .29 BAC. While bucking up Kohel to take him to jail he grabbed Finger by the throat and strangled her until she blacked out. Kohel is also charged with counts of strangulation and suffocation battery to a law enforcement officer. Each carry a maximum of 6 years in jail. The homicide charge has a max sentencing of 60 years if convicted.
