The city of Clintonville has begun preliminary work on its 20189 operating budget. The heads of each of the city departments have been instructed to keep the budgets flat for 2019. The only exception to those instructions is for salaries and benefits. The city is anticipating a 10 percent increase in health insurance premiums. Negotiations with the police union will also take place in the fall and that may have an effect on the operating budget as well. As of right now the city’s portion of the tax rate is anticipating to not increase, but until they see numbers they won’t know that for sure.
