An Almond man is currently in custody on a $10,000 cash bond. Glen E. Schafer, 45, was charged with a 10th drunken driving offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sgt. Andrew Thorpe, with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, resounded to a report of a vehicle going the wrong way on U.S. Highway 10. According to the criminal complaint, Thorpe located the car going eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 10 in the town of Fremont. A preliminary breath test indicated Schafer had a .195 BAC and had nine prior drunken driving convections going back to 1999. If convicted of his 10th OWI, Schafer may be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison.
