Sharon Mae Krueger, age 83, passed away peacefully at home in Shawano on Monday, July 30, 2018 surrounded by her family. Sharon was born in Shawano on October 2, 1934, daughter of the late Antone and Elsie (Helms) Brunner. After graduating in 1952 from Shawano High, she moved to Chicago and worked for the airlines. Sharon was united in marriage to William Frank Krueger on July 20, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano; they just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Sharon enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, playing cards and time at the lake with her family. Her passion was her creativity ~ she developed an extraordinary talent for quilting. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty and creation in the quilts she made throughout the years, many times gifting them to family, friends and those in need. Sharon was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since they moved “back home” after retiring in 1990. Sharon and her family had homes in Cincinnati, Ohio; Arlington Heights, Illinois; Burnsville, Minnesota and Appleton, Wisconsin.
She is survived by: her husband, William; six daughters, Kelly (Jim) Carlstrom of Shawano, Kris (Bob) Kuhn of Shawano, Kerri (Don) Otte of Shawano, Kate (Jim) Garvey of Shawano, Kim (Jeff) Dehn of Neenah and Kori (Mike) Stupecky of Shawano; grandchildren, Alison (Trevor) Grunwald, Lacey (Sean Erhardt) Carlstrom, Mary (Matt) Rau, Amy (Ryan) Kubly, Leah (Brad) Miller, Rachel (Mike) Hoffman, Ashley (Kelly) Goldsborough, Caroline Dehn, Anthony “AJ” Dehn, Michael (Heather Patt) Stupecky and Sam Stupecky; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Lyla, Klara, Mae, Jack, McLane, McCoy, Karagan, Hannah, Keagan, Nash and one on the way. She is further survived by her sister, Antoinette Knope of Shawano.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elsie and Tony and a sister, Betty Redman.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held at noon on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to ThedaCare at Home Hospice of Shawano.
