Police arrested five people and took an infant into protective custody during two drug busts late last week. At a residence on West Sumner Street in Weyauwega. Officers arrested a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman and found the infant. They seized methamphetamine, illegally possessed prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, including more than 1,000 used syringes. Police are recommending charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug house, child abuse and bail jumping. At a residence on Emerald Street, officers arrested a 27-year-old man, a 38-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman. The recommended charges from that raid are possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of a prescription drug, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug house.
